Synopsis

The smart meter industry is witnessing a renewed interest from global investors, with the government’s recent policy thrust in the space. While analysts see smart meters as a game changer for the electricity sector, the needle will move only with consumer buy-in and some regulatory tweaks to woo institutional investors.

Of late, there have been some electrifying moments (no pun intended) in India’s otherwise not-so-happening smart metering industry. Sample this.
